I am a Dream Painter

I am part of a group of dreamers who are healers, an art form that has been practiced for many generations, from the most ancient civilizations and continuing today. We utilize dream techniques that are used for healing one's self or others.  I act out what comes through dreams ~on canvas~ with oil paints and brush.  I strive to let my imagination flow and to let the creative spirit come from my hand in images that evoke gentleness and strength.  I am giving back to the universe in small ways all that has helped me, giving to the viewer of my paintings a visual way to relax and enjoy a moment in time.

At a young age I have found that learning was easier for me through visualizing, experiencing and finally sketching the situation.   This is how I understood life around me. My paintings express what I feel about the Earth. From a woman's perspective, the woman is the giver of life, like Mother Earth giving to us all.  She makes things soft, bright, special, and plentiful. For those around her, she gives love unconditionally.  Not I will love you if... She brings light to all that encounter her.  Each day the sun comes up, the water flows, plants and animals grow and the moon and stars glow at night.  This is Mother Earth, our universe.   This is Woman.  The beautiful balanced world shows a life we can all have.   We need only to honor her, give back and dream our reality of light.  Our blessings then come back to us displaying life as a circle.

These paintings reflect feelings, teachings that have come to me through dream visions.  Most of my paintings are drawn within the circle of the Medicine Wheel.  The four directions are around the edge line of the circle, represented by colors  such as, yellow, red, black and white.  The circle itself, I feel is Spirits light, connecting the directions within the circle.  They illustrate my feeling, the telling of a story.  The viewer has the ability to draw from the painting whatever feeling may be evoked.  This is the artists role.  I trust that I am able to touch you with my work.

I thank the many teachers, dreamers, and people who have helped me on my journey.  I feel the Native Americans, Healers, Herbalist's and Spiritualists I have met in person and through text, have given me extra inspiration.   I have learned foremost to go within, focus on myself, my life and my work.   Healing myself through myself.  This has helped me progress and share with the circle of all things through my paintings.
